It's been a while!

Things have been crazy since my last posting!

I spent a good part of January working on my garage/studio space... and there is quite a bit still left to do. Somewhere along the way, my entire household came down with whatever it is that's been going around -- and it hit us hard. It hit my youngest daughter hardest of all, and she missed a good 5 1/2 weeks from school due to the illness. She's normally quite healthy so that made it especially difficult because we just weren't prepared for her to be so sick!

The rest of us got a bit of what she had, but none of us had it quite as bad.

Anyways, I've only been feeling productive art-wise for about a week or so... Trying to get everyone healthy and then get everything else back to normal was a challenge!

Here's what I've been working on this weekend...

it is collaged and painted on a 4x4 canvas. I created it for a "Crow" themed lottery for one of my groups. I hope that whomever wins enjoys this piece!

On the 11th & 12th Day of Christmas... oh... yeah, and Happy New Year too!

On the 11th day of Christmas, we received a gift from Julie! Julie gave us a lovely fabric wrapped bundle of silk goodness, including a silk handkerchief, some silk top and rod from Treenway Silks. Thanks Julie!
On the 12th day... we received a gift from Gail! She made lovely cold pressed soaps that smell absolutely amazing! Here's a link to her blog so you can see what she sent!

I was really so thrilled with everyone's gift in this swap... it definitely ranks up there with one of my very favorite swaps... because it really seemed to inspire everyone in the swap in different ways! So much fun!

NOW for some art updates of my own! ha! Lately, I've been deco-ing (again!) yay! First, I finished my page for Gail's Happy Camper deco...

And then I finished Debbie's Nature deco...

My next project? Well, I MUST clean out my garage! And... coming soon, a domino workshop!

On the 9th & 10th day of Christmas...

We received lovely gifts from Liisa and Heidi!

Day 9 belonged to Liisa... and she gifted us with a lovely paper dancing lady! The colors of the doll are rich and vibrant, as though she's dressed for a holiday party! Isn't she gorgeous?
Day 10 was Heidi's day, and she also chose to go with the song day "theme" and gave us a beaded leaping lord to decorate our tree! Because of the dimensional properties of this little lord, I couldn't get a decent scan of him, so perhaps if I can get the camera working again, I'll take a photo and update this blog post. This beaded ornament is truly lovely - beautiful!!!
BIG thank yous to both Liisa and Heidi for participating in this swap... I just love these gifts!
